How To Care For Chicks And Ducks

 

These are the things you will need to care for chicks and Ducks,

 

• A warm enclosed spot where predators are not able to get in. ( A large tote will work depending on how many chicks or ducks you have)
• A water dish shallow enough that if a chick falls in it will not drown. ( ducks may want to play in the water)
• A feed dish ( A shallow clay dish will work)
• Chick Feed
• Hay or wood chips
• A heat lamp
• A fan

Step by step instructions on setting up the tote,

1. Put a layer of hay (or wood chips) on the bottom of the tote about 2” inches thick.
2. fill water dish and set at one end of the tote.
3. fill feed dish and set at the other end of the tote.
4. set up a fan or heat lamp depending on the time of year and where the tote is. ( Tote needs to be warm but not to hot )

Paper Towel Replacement

Here are 4 easy steps to sewing a cloth “paper” towel.

You will need…

• 1/4 yard of 100% cotton flannel[any print you like]
• an Iron
• matching thread
• fabric scissors
• sewing machine

Step 1:  Iron your flannel.

Step 2: Cut your flannel into 8.5 x10.5″ rectangles.  You’ll use 2 pieces for each napkin.

Step 3: With wrong sides together, topstitch around the edges at a 1/4″ seam allowance using a zigzag stitch.

Step 4: Stitch 3 straight line dividing the cloth into 4 equal portions.

And this is the finished cloth “paper” towel.

Quick and Easy Lunch

Do you want to know the secret to a tasty, quick and easy lunch?

All you have to do is follow these simple directions.

 

Ingredients……

• 1 cup  of chopped onions
• 1/2 cup of chopped  bell pepper
• 1/2 cup of shredded baby spinach
• hoagie buns
• shredded cheese[any kind]
• two cans of diced tomatoes

1. Blend up the two cans of diced tomatoes.Then mix in  1/2 tbsp of garlic powder,2 tsp of salt and 1 tsp of pepper.
2. Saute the onions and bell peppers.
3. Spread the sauce you made on the hoagie bun.Put the cheese,onions,bell peppers and spinach.
4. Next set your oven to 375
5. Put the hoagie pizza in the oven for 15 min. until the cheese is melted and browned.

Take out when done and enjoy!
